NV Larmandier Bernier ‘Longitude’ Blanc de Blancs, Champagne (France)

Pierre and Sophie Larmandier have now cemented themselves in the upper echelon of the great Grower producers of Champagne. Based in Vertus in the Cote-de Blancs, they farm bio-dynamically and make wines with impossible purity and precision. Longitude is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes and is named both for the longitude on which these vineyards sit as well as for reference to the long linear powerful drive this wine generates in the mouth. This wine only gets better and better each release!

NV Jo Landron ‘Atmospheres’, Loire Valley (France)

Made from Folle Blanche and Pinot Noir rather than Muscadet’s signature Melon de Bourgogne, this is a vibrant, racy and crisp sparkling wine made in the traditional method. It is born of bio-dynamically farmed grapes and spends 24 months on lees before being bottled with under 5g/l dosage.

2018 Jamsheed ‘Hippy Flip’ Pet-Nat, Chardonnay/Riesling, Yarra Valley/Mansfield (Vic)

Barrell fermented Yarra Valley Chardonnay meets Mansfield Riesling in this sequel to the wildly popular ‘Candy Flip’. Made for the party times, a beautiful balance of fruit and leesy characters by Yarra Valley Maestro Gary Mills of Jamsheed fame.

NV Eminence ‘The Assembly’, Whitlands (VIC)

At 868 metres above sea level, this beautiful expression of sparkling comes from Victoria’s highest vineyard, located on the Whitlands high plateau in the upper reaches of the King Valley. Clare Burder crafts beautiful sparkling wines and this is no exception. A blend of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier, and made in tiny quantities. It balances pure fruit with lovely biscuity autolytic characters.

NV Pierre-Marie Chermette Cremant de Bourgogne, Burgundy (France)

Disgorged in November 2017, this Chermette Crémant de Bourgogne is a dry sparkling wine made using 100% Chardonnay from a single parcel of vines just north of the Vissoux cellars. This vineyard is a 2.5-hectare Southwest-facing site on limestone and clay - a soil type perfect for Chardonnay. The wine is aged for 18 months, and very little dosage liqueur is added.

2017 Puncheon Darts Prosecco, Glera, Kinga Valley (Vic)

Drink this King Valley number by itself or use it as the base of your favourite Spritz. Featuring great acidity with a burst of lemon and lime sherbet, this is a light and bright Prosecco with more interest and depth than many others with the same price tag.
